Utilizza i progressi e gli aggiornamenti tecnologici più recenti e all'avanguardia del multiverso per dare la caccia agli aracnidi e sfrutta il loro classico tallone d'Achille: le FIAMME... o le piogge di proiettili. I due vanno subito d'accordo anche perché Kaoruko non sembra dare importanza all'aspetto del ragazzo, ma questa sensazione di pace viene rapidamente turbata quando Rintarō scopre che la ragazza frequenta la Kikyo. Questa rivelazione segna l'inizio di una faticosa storia fra i due, mentre lottano contro le limitazioni imposte dalle loro scuole e dall'ambiente circostante, nel tentativo di trovare la loro strada.
